A 78-year-old grandmother who was imprisoned for joining in a Just Stop Oil protest on the M25 has blasted the conditions of the female prison she spent Christmas in.
A 78-year-old Just Stop Oil activist, Gaie Delap, complained about prison conditions after being jailed for breaching an injunction during an M25 protest. She was initially released on home detention curfew but recalled because her wrists were too small for an electronic tag. Delap criticized being asked to take a pregnancy test upon arrival and shared concerns about prison conditions. A Ministry of Justice spokesperson cited efforts to reform women's prisons.
